This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Joshua "Josh" Sowells who was born in Arkansas on January 31, 1984 and passed away on July 25, 2007 at the age of 23. Josh was most at home outside- he loved to hunt and fish. He was always concerned about spending time with his family and we cherish every moment that we had with him. Josh loved life and cherished the loved ones in his life. He loved to laugh and play practical jokes.
Our world is so much less now that he is no longer in it. He will live on in our hearts. Love and miss you bunches, baby! 'Tomorrow', sweetie...
Your birthday has come and gone, Valentine's, and now Easter- every day in this year is another "first" without you. We know that you want us to be happy and live our lives but sometimes that is so very difficult to do. Every funny little thing that happens around the house- I hear your laughter! Every stroke of luck that happens for me, I know that you are there making it happen. I know that you are here with us all often. Someday, we will all be together again in our Heavenly Father's house.....tomorrow, baby!
An entire year has come and gone since our last hug and "I love you" on July 24, 2007. How could we have known that would be our last on this earth- that was right after lunchtime on your jobsite and you were gone less than twelve hours later.
You did visit me just the other day- in the car, on my way home from work I was listening to Air 1. A song came on that I have heard dozens of times before, but I never really listened to it until August 1, 2008 when you "spoke" to me through that song on the radio- Pillar's "Smiling Down"- it took my breath away when I listened to the words- thank you, Baby- that song means a great deal to me now. Here are the words:
"Smiling Down" by Pillar
You make it so hard on yourselves But there's nobody else That could ever understand The feelings that you felt I could hear you think about All the time I was around If you could only see me now I'm right here looking down
So next time that you feel like crying Next time you don't feel like trying Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you In the morning you don't feel like rising Next time you feel like compromising Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you
I know you won't forget All the time we got to spend Just because it's been awhile Doesn't mean that it's the end So right here and now I'll swear to you a vow That I will always be with you Whenever you feel down Nothing ever will come between us Now I'm holding the hand of Jesus
So next time that you feel like crying Next time you don't feel like trying Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you In the morning you don't feel like rising Next time you feel like compromising Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you
I'll be right there looking down Even when the sun don't shine I'll be right there looking down On a lone winter night I'll be right there looking down With a smile on my face I'll be right there with my arms open wide Right here on Jesus' side
So next time that you feel like crying Next time you don't feel like trying Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you In the morning you don't feel like rising Next time you feel like compromising Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you
So next time that you feel like crying Next time you don't feel like trying Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you In the morning you don't feel like rising Next time you feel like compromising Just remember I'll be right there Smiling down on you
Thank you again, Baby- Mom really needed to hear that from you and I have passed it on....
